Fast and Effective Floor Lifting for Home Owners
Restore Your Floor in Just One Day
Sinking floors appear when a concrete slab shifts from its original position, a situation that can occur in any home. At Subsidence, we specialise in providing swift and efficient floor lifting solutions, designed specifically for homeowners, whether you're dealing with issues in a small extension or a larger property.
How can we help?
We’ve designed our process to be both efficient and non-intrusive. By using a precise drilling technique and injecting a specially formulated expanding material, we’re able to lift and restore your sinking floor back to its original level within just one day.
What causes my floor to sink?
Sinking floors typically result from soil changes due to subsidence or settlement. For instance, dry weather can shrink clay soil, or compaction can cause fill to sink over time. Excessive water from sources like leaky drains can also erode the soil, causing the floor to shift downwards.
- Flooding
- Soil contraction due to extended dry periods
- Excessive water from broken pipes (e.g., water, sewage, stormwater drainage)
- Poorly compacted fill
- Removal of resources (such as liquid, gas, or minerals) from the ground
- Tree roots drawing moisture from the ground
- Vibrations from heavy traffic or machinery
- Heavy loading
- Changes in surface materials changing the moisture or water table levels in the ground
How We Rectify Sinking Floors
To effectively correct a sinking concrete floor, we first diagnose and mitigate the underlying cause, be it invasive tree roots, leaking drains, or natural soil compaction. Understanding the problem allows us to implement a permanent solution and, in most cases, lift the floor back to its original level.
We employ our innovative technology to inject an expansive material into the ground. This fills the voids in the soil and stabilises the ground beneath the concrete slab. Once the voids are filled, the material exerts an upward force on the slab, enabling us to re-level the floor in most cases.
Traditional methods like underpinning or pile foundations involve extensive excavation of the foundation, a time-consuming and inconvenient approach. Where our method can rectify the issue in just one day, traditional alternatives could take weeks and be significantly more expensive.
